Division of Chemistry and the Environment (VI)

COMMISSION ON AGROCHEMICALS AND THE ENVIRONMENT (VI.4)

Number: 640/42/97

Title: Interception and Retention Factors for Pesticides Applied to Plant Foliage

Coordinator(s): J. Linders

Completion Date: 2000 - project completed

Objective:
Objective is to evaluate available information on foliar interception and retention of pesticides following spray application and to develop recommendations for new estimation rules for these quantities. This project will fill a current technology gap in the procedures for environmental exposure and risk assessment of pesticides in agroecosystems employed by regulatory agencies and researchers.

Progress:
Outline draft available. A complete draft to be prepared by January, 1999. Near-final draft report and project conclusions and recommendations will be available for review by the Commission on Agrochemicals and the Environment at the Berlin General Assembly during August, 1999.

Project completed - IUPAC Technical Report published in Pure Appl. Chem., 72(11), pp. 2199-2218, 2000 entitled: 'Foliar interception and retention values after pesticide application'.
