Objective:
Polymer composites and blends have become very important industrially.
It is widely recognised that most new polymer materials developed
in the future will be a multi-phase composites and blends designed
for specific needs. A wide range of conflicting terminology is used
in the field regarding not only the structural description of these
materials but also their formation and properties. This project
is intended to provide definitions of terms that are widely used
in describing this important area of polymer materials.
Progress:
Good progress has been made. Draft 11 of the document was sent to
35 experts in 1999 for their comments and extensive comments were
received.
In March 2002, a final document was prepared
for publication in Pure Appl. Chem. A draft is submitted
to public review comments until 31 March 2003.
